Animation Complete!
I have finally finished animating 'A Future Colour Duathlon' as my final outcome for Nike78.
I challenged the function of my Nikes through an investigation into making alternative use of the shoe (other than wearing it).
I got a little bit involved with the shapes associated with a triathlon (after reading a triathlon magazine) and also the shapes within the form of the trainers before and after I had meddled with them.
The outcome of my Nike 78 project takes inspiration from everything documented in this blog and the very important key words listed below, to create a really rather pointless (but very fun) animation.
Very important key words include:
Triathlon
Competition
Chief Babatunde
Running
Stitching
Lego
Cycling
Circuits
Wheels
Obstacle
Colour Trails
Segments
Journey
Mapping
I won't post the animation just yet until the projects have been posted on the Nike78 website.
But then you will be able to see the full 1 minute of silly colour fun in all its pointless glory. Come back soon!
Electric Shocks
After some minor delays due to broken down computers, I am back on track with the making of my animation for the outcome of my Nike78 project.
Almost finished, here is a peek at some stills from it so far.

Today I Will Make An Animation
I am going to make a short animation incorporating all the shapes, colours and fun ideas I have discovered through the study of my pair of Nike trainers.
The first things to do is collect the shapes I associate with these 2 categories:
My Nikes + Duathlon (Running + Cycling)
These are some of them.

Function?
My pair of Nikes are not functional to me for their intended purpose because they are massive and if I wore them to go for a run or a bike ride or to do long jump in, I would surely fall flat on my face. Discovering a new purpose for them is my main objective.
Keeping sport in mind.

My Pair
These are my pair of Nike Shoes . They are very big (size 9.5) and silver. They look space-like and futuristic, a bit like a vision that someone had in 1978 when asked the question "What do you think trainers will look like in 2010?"
